School History
The Regional High School of Pera Chorio - Nissou operated for the first time in 1978 and until 1981 it was housed in the 2nd Primary School of Idalio under the name of Idalio High School and operated in the afternoons. In the school year 1981-82, it was housed in a new school building, which allowed the increase of its students. Today it covers the educational needs of the villages: Dali, Pera Chorio, Nissou, Lymbia and Potamia.
It has a Library with a Reading Room and a Lending Department. Classrooms for the courses: Music, Biology, Geography, English, French, Mathematics, Modern Greek, History, Home Economics and Art. Physics, Chemistry, Technology Design and Information Laboratories, Vocational Guidance and Guidance Office, Multipurpose Room, Classic Sports Track and Fields for Basketball and Volleyball.
When the Medes and Kites were besieging the city of Idalion, in the year of Philokyprus son of Onasagoras, King Stasikyprus and the city had called the physician Onasilos, the son of Onasikyprus, as well as his brothers to attend to its wounded combat without pay.
The King and the City agreed to give to Onasilos and his brothers as a reward and gratuity a talent of silver, the field in the farthest part of the province of Alabria, that which borders the orchard of Onchas, together with all the trees that are inside, to reap them forever. All products they sell will be tax free. If anyone expels from this field Onassilos or his brothers or the children of the children of Onasikiprus, the one who drives them out shall pay to Onassilos and his brothers or their children the sum of one talent of silver.
